Shipment

Shipping at 99WAVES:
organized, tracked, fair.

You buy or sell – we take care of the shipping. 99WAVES provides the shipping label, selects the appropriate shipping partner, and automatically shares the tracking information. Here you can find out how it works, what shipping costs, and what you should keep in mind as a seller.

This is how shipping works

One way for all purchases: Label from 99WAVES, shipping by the seller

At 99WAVES, no one organizes shipping "on their own." After the purchase, 99WAVES provides the seller with a pre-printed shipping label—automatically for standard packages, and through our team for bulky items like boards. The seller prints the label, packs the item securely for shipping, and hands it over to the shipping partner. Tracking information is automatically shared with the buyer.

  1. Purchase & Confirmation

The buyer pays securely through the platform; the money is held in escrow. The seller confirms the sale within 24 hours.

  2. Label of 99WAVES

The seller receives the appropriate shipping label – automatically for parcels, and via our team for bulky goods (e.g., boards). No separate shipping account is required.

  3. Pack & hand over

Print the label, pack the item securely for transport, and drop it off or arrange for pickup within 5 business days. For large items, please refer to our packaging recommendations.

  4. Delivery & Release

Tracking is automatic. After delivery, the buyer checks the item and confirms receipt – or reports a problem within 48 hours. The seller is then paid.

Personal collection is also possible. If the buyer lives nearby, the item can be picked up directly from the seller and viewed beforehand – payment is still processed through the platform. Note: The following applies to personal pickups: Buyer protection not.

Shipping costs: When will you see the price?

Transparent before payment – no surprises

On the product page

Item price „plus shipping“

On the product page, you'll see the item price with the note "plus shipping". Shipping costs depend on the delivery location – therefore, they will only be finalized once your delivery address is known.

At checkout

Exact price before payment

Once your delivery address is confirmed, the checkout will display the exact shipping costs for this specific item – before you pay. The buyer is responsible for shipping costs; they are included in the total price.

What does the price depend on? Of the Shipping class of the item (size or weight of the package, specified by the seller when listing), from Delivery location and from country of origin of the seller. Our [website/service] provides you with a guideline for shipments from Germany. Shipping cost calculator further down.

For sellers: Choose the shipping class carefully

Two minutes of careful attention when placing the ad – and the shipping runs smoothly.

When creating your listing, in the "Price" step you select how your item will be shipped: as a package based on weight or – for boards, masts, sails and booms – based on package dimensions. This determines the Shipping class. Based on this, we calculate the shipping costs for the buyer and later create the shipping label.

Why this is important: The entire calculation is based on your selection. If the chosen shipping class doesn't match the actual package – for example, because it's heavier or larger – the shipping partner will calculate the difference. We, as the seller, can pass these additional costs on to you. Therefore: It's better to measure again and, if in doubt, choose the next larger class. Choosing a size that's too small can cost you money – choosing a size that's too large won't.

Weigh correctly

Weigh the article ready packaged – with cardboard, padding, and all accessories you include. A kitchen or bathroom scale is perfectly sufficient.

Measure correctly

Miss the External dimensions of the packaging (Length × width × height), not the bare item. For boards, the board bag or box plus padding are included.

When in doubt, go bigger.

If you're close to a size limit, choose the next larger size. For packages, we'll suggest a size that matches the category – just one click is all it takes to switch.

Who pays for shipping?

The buyer pays the shipping costs. They are shown at checkout and included in the total price. The seller receives the shipping label from 99WAVES and does not have to pay anything upfront.

How long does shipping take?

After that, the delivery time depends on the shipping partner and the route – bulky items shipped by freight carrier may take slightly longer than a standard parcel. You can track your shipment at any time.

Do I, as the seller, need to enter a tracking number?

No. The tracking information is included with the label you receive from 99WAVES and is automatically shared with the buyer. You print the label, pack the item, and hand it over – that's all there is to it.

What happens in the event of transport damage or loss?

If you ship without consulting us in a package that is too large or too heavy, the shipping partner may pass on the additional costs to you.

Are there any areas to which deliveries are not made?

We ship within the EU. Currently, we exclude certain special territories outside the EU customs territory or where no suitable shipping route exists: the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla, as well as the Azores and Madeira. Switzerland and other non-EU countries will follow later.

How do I pack a board correctly?

Unscrew the fins and foil and pad them separately. Protect the edges and nose with foam or bubble wrap. Place the board in a board bag or cardboard box and fill any empty spaces to prevent shifting. We provide packaging recommendations for larger items – please follow them, as they are part of our shipping terms.
